FAQ

What is Arctic Ocean Greens and how do I use it?

Arctic Ocean Greens is a natural seaweed seasoning blend made from hand-harvested organic wakame (winged kelp) and dulse flakes - with no added salt - that brings a subtle umami flavour to your dishes. You can sprinkle it on salads, soups, stews, seafood, grain bowls, bread, smoothies, yoghurt, or porridge to elevate flavour without extra sodium.

What are the main ingredients and nutritional highlights of Arctic Ocean Greens?

This seasoning contains:

  • Organic wild Wakame (Alaria esculenta) 75%
  • Organic farmed Wakame (Alaria esculenta) 15%
  • Organic wild dulse (Palmaria palmata) 10%

It’s gluten-free, vegan, and sustainably harvested, and serves as a plant-based source of iodine, minerals, and umami-rich flavour without added salt.

Are there any allergens or health considerations I should know about?

Because seaweed naturally contains iodine, consuming large amounts could affect thyroid function; we recommend using small amounts (e.g., a pinch) as a seasoning and checking your total iodine intake if you have thyroid concerns.

This is absolutely my favourite! We use it when we cook but I also take it just like that with a teaspoon in the morning. I really like the taste and I know I'm getting tons of good nutrients from it. <3

Excellant salt substitute

My wife and I rarely dine out; we cook most of our meals. We are both 75 and are trying to watch our salt intake. I read about Lofoten Seaweed elsewhere, went to the website (did not realize i could get it on Amazon) and bought a small canister. The day it arrived we were having fettuccini Alfredo with mushrooms and peas and dusted it with the seaweed. It provided the saltiness similar to a dose of pecorino Romano cheese with a hint of a pleasing seafood background. The next day i dusted scrambled eggs and that worked very well. Last night we made leek and potato soup and the Lofoten was sprinkled on top before serving - a great combination. We have many more tests to do but so far Lofoten remains on our table with our other condiments. Stay tuned.

The best seaweed I've ever had

High quality, sustainable, delicious, healthy... I've sprinkled some of this on nearly every meal for a week straight! It tastes fresh without it being fishy, and it's a big plus that the packaging the beautiful. I hope Lofoten Seaweed comes out with more products!

I'm sold!

This is a great spice that I have added to my collection. Fresh, crispy and flavorful, it's my go-to box to add flavor when needed. Two thumbs up from me!
