What is ViQueens?
An epic Viking adventure across oceans and empires, where friendship, action and humor challenge old beliefs and prove that choosing your own path can change the course of history.
From the Viking realm of Lofotr, Ingrid, the king’s daughter, and her fearless best friend Hedvig set out on an adventurous journey to return a young stowaway to his home.
Their voyage carries them from icy fjords across distant seas and along the legendary Silk Road to the Emperor’s palace in China.
Along the way, they discover a bigger world — and an unsettling truth: the heroes they grew up admiring are feared as raiders abroad.
Determined to shape a different future, Ingrid and Hedvig return home with new insight and gifts from friends more valuable than anything taken by force. With Chinese battle techniques and fireworks, they outsmart Uncle Lars’s evil plan to overtake the throne — and forever change what it means to be a Viking.
It's a film for the whole family!
Why did we want to partner with the film?
Beyond the fact that ViQueens is an amazingly fun adventure that we're proud to be associated with, the heroines in the film live right here, in our Lofoten islands. A film about two women gaining new knowledge and a new perspective on their world, and trying to use that to make it a better place? We're in!
As an official partner, this is also a chance for us to talk about how seaweed as a food source has roots reaching back all the way to viking times - and of course, a chance to show people all over the world the benefits of our sustainable seaweed.
